Tuesday March 8th- Number 9

Downstairs we worked on our scissor skills and then headed up to play with cars, trucks and Mr. Potato Head. I practiced the number 9 with each student during this time. Payten was our star and she helped with reviewing colors and shapes. During calendar time, we counted to 15 and to 9 in Spanish. I taught them the number prior to counting. We sang to the days of the week song and practiced our months of the year. I introduced September to the class today with the other months. Payten helped us with weather time and then we boogied to the alphabet. Because we didn’t have a letter to review we went right into wiggle time. After we wiggled, ate our snacks and explored our books, we went into our lesson on the number 9.
I started with reading our number 9 poem and then we practiced counting up to 9 in English and Spanish. At the table, we finished our number 9 worksheet by putting 9 frogs in the jar. Then we added 9 stamps to the 9 envelope worksheet that we colored. Each child had to practice writing their names on both sheets by practicing on top of their highlighted names that I had written for them.
For letter time, we boogied again to the alphabet and reviewed the letters that we have learned so far this year. Then I read Chicka, Chicka Boom Boom for our letter review. Such a fun book!
