Mon Oct 10th- Following the rules/Christopher Columbus

Since it was “L” week, we first started with name practice then played with little legos, magnetic letters, links and vehicle puzzles. After show and tell and binder time, I read about Christopher Columbus and his discoveries. I used the globe to show where these events took place. Our theme was following the rules. We talked about rules of the road and different signs that we see on the road. After that, we talked about the rules of the classroom. We really have remembered them through the pictures and it was a great time to review. Lenny Lion was the friend of the week for the letter “L”. He loves his lemonade and climbing up his ladder to get it. He also loves to play with lizards. I practiced the letter “L” with the kids during play time (not a hard one to do) and we also learned its sign and sound. We colored our “L” sheet and then did an art project making tissue paper leavesAt the end of class, I gave each child a lollypop and a L stamp on their hand.
