Healthy foods: fruits, veggies, grains, dairy and meat/beans-
At table time, we traced up and down zigzag lines. Upstairs, we played with our food and tinker toys. We also explored the new November books in the library area. At circle time, Audrey helped with shapes and colors and we discussed our new month- November! Our calendar had changed as so had the special days of the month. We talked briefly about Veteran’s day and what a veteran is. We also talked a bit about Thanksgiving and what we do on that holiday. We met our new letter friend- Gilbert goat who likes to play his guitar and work in his garden. We learned the sign of “G” and its two sounds- “G”-ga- like in goat, guitar, and garden. We also learned it has another sound- ja- like in giraffe and gymnasium. We started a new nursery rhyme this month- Little Miss Muffet. We colored our nursery rhyme book as we listened to the song that will help us learn it. For instruction time, we talked about the “my food pyramid”. Each child also received one in each of their folders. We talked about each group- the importance of eating our veggies even though we all like fruits better and to eat from a rainbow of colors- not just carrots or apples but choosing from each color of the rainbow.
