Tuesday May 17th- Alphabet Review

Tuesdays are scissor practice days- I let the students pick their own practice to do. Upstairs they played with big plastic blocks, food and babies. I was assessing the students’ skills that they have learned this year.
Kate was our star and she helped the students review their colors and shapes. Then we were on to circle time with reviewing the date, counting, singing and weather time. We also practiced our nursery rhyme of the month- Little Boy Blue. We wiggled, ate our snacks and had some book time. Kate shared her show and tell and then we started to practice for our presentation. We reviewed what we would be doing for the presentation and practiced our songs and nursery rhymes.
Today was alphabet review day. We alphabet boogied, and read “Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom” and “Alphabeep”- a story about the alphabet around your town. We played Letter of the day bingo- the students had to find the letter and picture and mark it with a cookie from Cookie Monster. They all earned a sticker for doing such a great job!
Downstairs we watched just a bit of the Letter Factory. It is a movie from LeapFrog and a great one for learning the short sounds of the letters of the alphabet. It was a great day for the alphabet!
