Wednesday May 18th- Graduation shirts

We did all our work upstairs since we were doing our shirts on my downstairs table. We practiced our first and last names and then played with big plastic blocks, babies and food. I was working with each child to finish their assessments for the year.
Zach was my star and helped with practicing our letters and their sounds. We went through our circle time routine of counting, practicing the date, singing and weather time. We also reviewed our sight words especially the word of the week-that. I also had the class review our poem of the month about May.
We wiggled, ate snack and we started with working on our shirts two children at a time. The students had an extended snack/book time because we were missing students as they were finishing their handprints.
Our class started to review for our graduation and we practiced our poems and songs. They are going to be awesome! We also completed our graduation invitations- I hope you have found these in your child’s folder.
We had some extra time so we went downstairs to watch Letter Factory. We were starting to watch it when it started to hail outside! I wanted to share this strange weather with the class, so we went outside to explore. The students all realized very quickly that hail is much different than snow and it is painful when hit by a piece of ice. We came back inside quickly and then watched about 15 more minutes of letter factory before we were finished for the day.
