We started with our play time (littlest pet shop, transformers and lacing cards) first today since we needed to get done with our normal class time and routines so that we could let our butterflies out at the park. Kate helped us with passing out our shape flashcards and we reviewed our shapes successfully. Calendar time and letter time was the same as Tuesday’s class. Kate brought “If you take a mouse to the movies” book and we read that for her show and tell.
For our lesson we read a book about caterpillars turning into butterflies and then we also read The Hungry Little Caterpillar. We discussed the life cycle of the butterfly- egg, caterpillar, cocoon and then into butterfly. Each child colored the different phases of the butterfly’s life. For letter review, we sang our letter song and then I gave each child their letter V on their hands. We bundled up and walked to the park. We had 5 butterflies that took off very quickly and we said good bye to our class pets for the month.
