Tues Nov 1-Fruits, Veggies, Grains, Dairy & Meats

Downstairs, we started tracing practice. Upstairs, I worked on the letter G individually with each child as they played with transformers, foam blocks, animals and puzzles. I measured each child for their November All about me page for their binders and stamped their handprints on the back. At circle time, Kayden helped with shapes and colors and we discussed our new month- November! Our calendar had changed as so had the special days of the month. We talked briefly about Veteran’s day and what a veteran is. We also talked a bit about Thanksgiving and what we do on that holiday. We learned the sign of “G” and its two sounds- “G”-ga- like in goat, guitar, and garden. We also learned it has another sound- ja- like in giraffe and gymnasium. We started a new nursery rhyme this month- Little Miss Muffet. We colored our nursery rhyme book as we listened to the song that will help us learn it. For instruction time, we talked about the “my food pyramid”. We talked about each group- the importance of eating our veggies even though we all like fruits better  and to eat from a rainbow of colors- not just carrots or apples but choosing from each color of the rainbow. Each child also received a healthy habits chart. If you help them to fill this out during the week, they will be able to pick something out of the prize jar. You will have enough time to do this since we will only have class Tuesday of next week. For G time, we read Gorilla, Be Good! Story and your child received this in their folders. We sang our G song practicing the two sounds and I stamped their hands with a capital G.
