We started our Friday with practicing the letter R and then upstairs we played with wooden blocks, food and babies. I worked with each child on finger painting 15 “acorns” for a squirrel for our #15 day. Ethan helped us review our shapes and colors. For extra shape practice, I showed some flash cards of different items then kids had to tell me what shape they were. We ran on number 18 as we counted to 28, we learned number 15 in Spanish is quince (keen-say) and did our blast off counting. I always love to hear the kids tell me where they landed after they blasted off- we go around to each child and see where their creativity has taken them. From there, we did days of the week/Macarena months songs, weather time, sight word practice and letter R review. We wiggled, ate a rainbow of colored snacks and cloud (sugar cookies) and explored our books for the month. After that, Ethan shared his show and tell.
For the number 15 day, we first counted in English and Spanish. Then we went to the table to practice printing the number 15. Some students had a harder time with the number 5 but we were all doing it on our own towards the end of the practice. We had to find the necklace with 15 beads and color that on the worksheet.
For letter practice, we colored a rainbow and had to find four words that started with R. We glued them on a construction paper and then practiced our names on the back. We were done with our day after we practiced our sound and sign on last time for the week.
