Thursday January 6th- Number 6

We practiced our names and then upstairs we played with transformers, animals and links. I took each child aside to practice tracing the number 6. I also measured each child to see how tall they have gotten since last month.
Garrett helped me again with star responsibilities. I also did a little testing to see where students were at. I will begin a little assessment next week of each child to see where they are progressing to. We were so excited to see that the theme was the same as the day of the month that we were on. We cheered when we counted to 6 and then on to 15! We also practiced our Spanish counting. After we did our alphabet boogie, we talked about the letter L. We remembered that the sound of L is like licking a lollypop. This is a harder sound for three year olds and many of them were not making the sound correctly but they will with time 
After a yummy snack, we did our monthly all about me page. We then talked and practiced the number six. We sang our numeral song and read our number 6 poem about 6 legged bugs. At the table we finished our number 6 page by putting six snowflake stickers in the jar. We also colored a six cookies page. We stamped out six cookies for our friends on the worksheet.
For letter time, we each traced the letter L on our own and colored the L worksheet. There was a lion, lamp and leaf on the page. We each got a lowercase L on our hands and downstairs, Garrett’s mom sent a lollypop home with each child.
