Fri Jan 27th- #11

Friday began with letter practice and playing with duplo blocks, babies, lacing cards and magnetic shapes. I pulled each child aside to work on the number 11, counting and printing as well as tracing their hands for the letter friend of the day. Bailey’s mom came and helped with the rest of the assessments- thanks so much Natalie!! Brooklyn helped reviewing our letters we have learned so far. We counted to 31 while we pretended to play a xylophone. We also practiced our Spanish to 11 or once. We didn’t sing all of our songs today- I had them say the days and months so I know that they know them without singing them and then I did a review of the days of the week. Practiced our letter X and we sang the song sounding like pirates and using our hook sign. I introduced MIt as a sight word as well as Mat. We will do this one next week. We wiggled, ate fun treats and sang to Rome for his birthday. The owl cupcakes were a big hit!! After show and tell, I had the class count in English and Spanish to 11. I also talked about how the eleven needs to be written. At the table, we had already counted 11 bananas but we colored a monkey and glued the bananas to the page. Once we completed that activity, we started to work on our letter X friend. It is an x-ray of their hand. After that they did a worksheet that showed three different x-rays and the students had to figure out what body part was being shown in the x-rays. On the back there was a coloring page of our letter friend Xavier the X-ray expert. The coloring can be completed at home. I gave them each their stamp, we sang our song with practicing our sign and we finished for the day!
