Each child practiced the letter B downstairs and then headed up to play. I pulled each child aside to practice the number 0 which was simple for them. After circle and snack time, we finished our star of the week binder and checked out her show and tell. I talked about the number 0- how many is zero? and I read them the zero poem about 0 cookies. I also read them the book- Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3 which makes zero the hero! I had the students go over the table to complete the zero worksheets we started at playtime.
For B time, we did some bingo stamping of the letter B and then created our own “B” bee. I hope you are enjoying their creations.

Thurs Sept 15th- RED Day
For class time, we had a day focused on the color red. The students played with red playdough, red blocks, red items on my lightboard and I created some fine motor/sensory project with some red items.
For red day, we read a red poem and a book about Clifford the Big Red dog and his search for red apples. Each child fingerpainted an apple red and then we talked about our world and what is red around us. We completed our Red books and then did a bingo dotted practice for the letter A to finish the review of that letter. Moving on to B next week!
Wed Sept 14th- Family and friends
For the letter B, I brought out my daughter's bird Julia and my hubby Josh helped each hold her if they wanted to. Some of the kids were more brave than the others- Julia is a sweet bird and did not harm any of your children :)
For class time, we discussed our family first. I read a story about families and then I sang a song and had each child tell who is in their family and if they had a picture to share, we showed that to the class. We also talked about how many people are in our families and compared and contrasted our families-brothers, sisters, older or younger, etc.
The students practiced their scissor skills when they made "I can be a friend" headband. After that we talked about being a friend and what makes a good friend. I read them a story and a poem and then we did a group activity/song about each of our friends in preschool.
For B time, we found all of Benny Bear's buttons and then color the worksheet.

Tuesday Sept 13th- How to keep clean
We worked on our scissor skills and then cam upstairs. Each student practiced our letter of the week -Aa- with Miss Alisha. Kayden was our star of the week and helped with circle time.
Our theme today was keeping clean. I talked about germs and where you can find them. I used glitter to represent the germs and we tried to get the "germs" off but couldn't so we had to wash our hands to get them all off. For A time, we read an alphatales story about the Adventrues of Abby Alligator and each child will be receiving a copy of the story each Tuesday after we read it in class. Another way to reinforce the letter and literacy in your home!

Monday Sept 12-Keeping clean/Opposites: clean and dirty
We started our day with writing our names in beans downstairs and then practicing printing our letter of the week- Bb- with Miss Alisha. Bailey and Emily were our stars of the week and helped with circle time. I taught the students abour germs and we used glitter to represent them. It was really hard to remove with a paper towel so we learned that soap is necessary to keep clean. We washed the "germs" away and then sang and danced to the Opposites song. We learned the difference between clean and dirty. For alphabet time, we read and alphatales story- Bubble Bear and sang to the B poem.

Thursday Sept 8- Listening ears & Rule Review
Today we went over our class rules and made listening ears. Whenever Miss Alisha asks the class to put their listening ears on, the students will pull them out of their magic pockets and put them on :) I know many of the students called them elephant ears but that is because on our rules posters- the elephant is on the poster for "listen" because of her big ears. See you Tuesday!
